Have you ever told someone you’re a Christian and they looked at you weird?
Have you ever been called just ‘another Jesus freak’?
Have you ever been excluded or laughed at because of your values?
I have.
And I know it’s not fun. It hurts.
We humans are so wired to want to fit in.
We don’t like the sting of rejection, the feeling of being left out.
And yet following Jesus? Loving Him with all of our heart, soul and mind?
That means we will be rejected.
1 John 3:13 – “Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.”
Being a follower of Christ might mean the world will reject you.
But what do you get for that small sacrifice?
Eternal life, forgiveness, grace and love.
You get to know Jesus, and one day be with Him in Heaven.
So you know what?
I think I’m ok with being uncool for Jesus.
As it says in Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Let’s not fall into the pattern of this world, instead let’s be transformed. Transformed by His amazing love.
