After a hard time the last 2 years I quit basketball. I gave up on ever playing rep.
And then the opportunity came up were I was pretty much guaranteed a spot on the team I’d been trying to get into the last two years.
And so I went back.
I put my uniform on and my headphones, so that no one would talk to me.
I walked in to the stadium I had been missing from of the first few weeks of games.
I didn’t make eye contact without anyone and kept my headphones on.
I was feeling so awkward and nervous.
Why was this so hard?
As I sat there a song came on I was only barely familiar with.

Those words rang true in that moment. I am stronger than last year. My last disappointment. My last mistake.
What happened in the past cant define me anymore. And if those words are true; then I am unbreakable.
I took my headphones off. I looked people in the eye. I went with the comments about me being back.
And I played with the knowledge that I’m unbreakable.
And guess what? You’re unbreakable too.
