Hey Readers,

I haven’t written in a while have I? A lots been going on!

This post is about how I found myself at peace, after months of frustration and loneliness.

I feel as if I’m in a waiting season right now. Ive recently had a few changes happening, including breaking off a longtime friendship that wasn’t working anymore, quitting basketball, the sport I’ve played for 3 years now; and starting an amazing new job.

I’m waiting for a bit of a break through too. I don’t really have any close Christian friends right now, and am not enjoying the youth I’m going too, so I’m trying to decide whether to stay or try a different youth. I also need to decide what sport I’m going to try and which school I’m going to do.

I’m naturally a very shy person and so I have been struggling with making new friends and fitting in at youth group.

So, I’ve been in this waiting season for a few months now, and ill be honest I was feeling pretty frustrated and lonely. I wasn’t leaning on the Lord like I should have been.

So how did I get out of this slump?

Well, for a long time I honestly could not feel it. It wasnt an immediate breakthrough.

But I just started to try more with God.

I started waking up earlier, and reading my bible first thing. And not just skimming paragraphs; really trying to absorb what I was reading, taking notes, and praying on the scripture.

I would then move my body, even if it was a short walk or 2 minutes of stretches.I found getting my body moving early helped me feel better energised and excited about the day.

I started trying to be more creative and healthy with my breakfast choices, putting on a cute, modest outfit for the day and getting my study done earlier.

For a while it just kinda felt like, oh yeah, I’m more productive, thats nice. No big breakthrough or anything.

But gradually over time, I started feeling more at peace, calmer, and closer to God.

And I made peace with my waiting season.

Yes, I am still waiting. I still want good Christian friends, I still want to fit in at youth, I want the sadness over a lost friendship and a quit sport to go away, and I want the decisions and the waiting to be over.

I still have those goals in life. But I’m okay waiting for Gods timing now. He’s put me in this season of life for a reason, and it’s definitely helped me grow closer to Him.

Are you in a season of waiting or change (or both)?

Are you feeling distant from God? Lonely, frustrated and impatient?

I felt the same. I didn’t think that spending time with God would change my situation.

Maybe it didn’t change my situation BUT it gave me an attitude change. It gave me peace, and the knowledge that it isn’t forever.

And ultimately, it helped me grow closer to my Heavenly Father.

This season isn’t forever. Gods placed you exactly where you are for a reason. Grow closer to Him during this season.

I’m praying for anyone who is in this season with me.

Have a wonderful day,
