The Ten Commandments: Photo Dump

Lately I’ve been thinking about how these ancient rules can apply to my everyday life now. I have chosen a meaningful photo and added a short insight for each one. I hope they show you how these commandments can apply to you as well. Enjoy! Leave a like if you want more like this 🙂.

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

Honour God, stay faithful to Him.

2. You shall not make idols.

sometimes we can get swept up into the world of likes, fashion, and being cool. Keeping this commandment close can help us to remember the one who made us and loves us. His approval is the only one we need to seek.

3.You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

Keep it holy and in honour instead.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Even if it’s just having a peaceful day with God on the front of our minds; having one specific day to honor Him and Him only is important. It fills us with love, gratefulness, and renews us for the week ahead.

5. Honour your father and your mother.

As a teenager, parents can be frustrating, and in your eyes, even unfair. But remembering this commandment encourages me to have my opinion, but to obey and not hold a grudge. After all, I know they’re doing their best.

6. You shall not murder.

I’m keeping this one short; Everyday choose to have a heart of love, not one of hate.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

Honour your commitments.

8. You shall not steal.

This commandment hold a double reminder for me. Apart from the obvious Do Not Steal; it also encourages me to give instead. Have open hands.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.

Gossiping is so easy to do. All it takes is one little comment. Everyone makes mistakes at some point. But keeping this commandment in your head can help you remember before it happens, and ask for forgiveness when it does.

10. You shall not covet.

Every one gets caught up in stuff they want, or feeling jealous of someone else at some point. My secret when I get those feelings is to grab a notebook and list the stuff I do have to be grateful for. Once it on paper you realise its a lot!!

Have a wonderful day!
