Hello! Last time we talked about the clean girl aesthetic and how it can be seen in christians. If you’ve skipped straight over here I recommend you read that first although its not essential.

The simple way to deal with feelings of failure (even when they are overwhelming)

When those crushing feelings of failure hit you it can be hard to turn to your bible or pray. And I know your not gonna like hearing this, but that is the one thing you HAVE to do. You can roll your eyes, but its true.

keep in mind that a mistake most people make, is to jump right into a complicated passage or try to pray a prayer they’re not ready to pray. Once again theres no “one way” to seek Jesus. You have to find what works for you. But let me give you some inspiration.

Here are some things I do when I get stuck in that feeling of failure.

  1. I listen to some upbeat christian music or worship songs. Music is a great way to help you feel connected to God before you do anything else. Below I’ve listed some of my favourite songs to listen to when I’ve got those feelings.
  • Still do by Anne Wilson
  • Carry me by Anne Wilson.
  • Trust in you by Lauren Daigle
  • Oceans (where feet might fail) Hillsong worship
  • You say by Lauren Daigle
  • In Jesus Name by Katy Nichole
  • Living hope by Phil Wickham
  • Better off broken by Matt Maher
  • The Jesus way by Phil Wickham

Find some of your own for those moments when you need a lift up.

  1. Read bible verses  I don’t turn to a random page in the bible and start reading. I have a list of specific verses for these kind of moments.

Try to find your own. You can use a concordance, the back of your bible, or even google, but I encourage you to find some verses that strike your heart chords and make you feel loved. If it feels too overwhelming to search right now, start with the book of psalms.

3. I pray a simple prayer

Nothing complicated or long. Just a short pray to ask the Lord to help me remember that He loves me and that Jesus was perfect because we couldn’t be.

This is not a prayer to be copied from a book. This is a prayer that should come from your heart, even if your heart is full of horrible feelings. God cares. He wants you to talk to Him. He wants you to know you are loved and special and that your value isn’t based on your success, but on His grace.

4. talk to someone.

Talking to a trusted person that cares about you can help so much. Someone like a good friend, youth pastor or caring family member. they can help take the load off your shoulders.

I hope this helps anyone whose not sure what to do with those crushing feelings of failure. Let me know in the comments what you do when this happens to you. Or share a song or verse that helps you get through.

See you next time!! love RENAI
